Help fund scholarships for students
Plans for the Rotary Club of Lahaina’s Feb. 27 fundraiser are quickly taking shape. Members have an aggressive goal to raise $25,000 in scholarship funding this year.
Join the community-minded Rotarians for the virtual “A Night Under the Stars III” featuring entertainment by Hawaiian music legend and Grammy Award winner George Kahumoku Jr.
The completely interactive event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. allows the audience to pick from Uncle George’s immense catalog of songs.
According to the club, “You have an opportunity to help our youth achieve their dream of attending college. Since Rotary Club of Lahaina’s founding over 50 years ago, we have given out over $1 million in scholarships to assist college-bound seniors.
“Half of our scholarship monies are provided by our Lahaina Rotary Youth Foundation. Uncle George’s virtual concert will help us reach our $25,000 in scholarships we hope to award this year.”
