New program can help county residents access health care
Are you uninsured or under-insured with health insurance enrollment? A new program can help Maui County residents.
Imua Family Services and the Kokua Outreach Program are holding Open Enrollment Events in Lahaina and around the island.
Enrollment runs through Dec. 15 for coverage beginning in January 2020. The program has an emphasis on people from the Micronesian Islands, but it is open to all residents of Maui County.

The Open Enrollment Event schedule for Maui is: Lahaina – Imua Family Services, 930 Wainee St., Nov. 30, and Dec. 7 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Kahului – Imua Family Services, 161 S. Wakea Avenue, Nov. 27, and Dec. 4 and 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Kihei – St. Theresa Catholic Church, 25 W. Lipoa St., Dec. 3 and 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Makawao – Makawao Public Library, 1159 Makawao Avenue, Dec. 2 and 19 from 3:30 to 7 p.m.; and Paia – Paia Elementary School, 955 Baldwin Avenue, Dec. 12 from 3 to 7 p.m.
In addition, walk-in appointments are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Malama I Ke Ola Health Center at 1881 Nani St. in Wailuku.
Applicants who wish to enroll should bring the following information: birth dates, Social Security numbers and income verification (pay stubs); immigration status and documentation (if applicable); policy numbers for current health plans; and login info for healthcare.gov (if applicable).
