Join the fight against cancer
If you’re looking to make the greatest impact to save lives from cancer, the American Cancer Society said the Relay For Life Maui County is the most powerful event you can participate in.
Part of the world’s largest movement to end cancer, the relay will be held from 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, to 6 a.m. Sunday morning at the War Memorial Special Events Arena in Wailuku.
The Relay For Life is an inspiring, one-of-a-kind experience that unifies people in nearly every community to finish the fight against every kind of cancer.
Money and awareness raised helps ACS save lives by funding ground-breaking research to discover cancer’s causes and cures, and help people facing the disease today with free programs and services.
Although it sounds like a running event, Relay For Life is a walk suitable for anyone.
People form teams and raise money together leading up to the event. On the day of the relay, everyone comes together for a night of fun that celebrates cancer survivors, remembers loved ones lost to cancer and unites the community to fight back against the disease.
There will be food, activities – including the Luminaria Lap to honor survivors and those who lost the battle to cancer.
– and entertainment to keep everyone going the entire time.
Teams will be putting up tents and staying overnight, but any time you spend at the relay will be appreciated.
Relay is traditionally an overnight event, symbolic of the fact that cancer never rests. So, neither do the people committed to finding a cure.
