Contribute to Lahaina’s Fourth of July fireworks
LahainaTown Action Committee needs the Maui community’s help in its fundraising effort for the 2019 fireworks display celebrating the Fourth of July in Lahaina.
Independence Day has become West Maui’s biggest summer event and one of the largest celebrations on the island.
Activities throughout Front Street will include entertainment, magicians, stilt walkers, face painters and a classic car show. There will also be many music venues during the day.
The Fourth of July provides a Halloween-like revenue boost to town businesses, who should join LAC and donate funds to support the annual event.
With a 15-minute fireworks show slated, LahainaTown Action Committee’s fundraising goal is $50,000 for the Fourth of July town party.
Donations for the July 4 event can be made online at www.visitlahaina.com.
Sponsors can also call LahainaTown Action Committee at (808) 667?9175 or mail a check to 648 Wharf St., Lahaina, HI 96761.
Fundraising progress can be tracked on the two goal banners along Honoapiilani Highway in Lahaina Town at Shaw Street and Lahainaluna Road.
LAC noted, “We urge local businesses to support by donating and decorating their storefronts with lights, flags and buntings.
“It takes the support of the community and businesses to create this annual event.”
Help LAC continue its tradition of staging an old-fashioned Independence Day celebration in Lahaina.
