Lahainaluna High School has a thriving Music Performing Arts Department led by Music Directors Myron Carlos and Jayme Carlos.

Programs include the Marching Band, Color Guard and Majorettes during marching season; Concert Band; Choir; and Jazz Band. And, if there are enough interested students, the Winter Guard, Woodwind Ensemble and Drumline.

“These committed music directors and students work multiple after school hours to produce quality performances,” explained Evette Green, a board member for the Friends of LHS Music.

The sole purpose of Friends of LHS Music is to assist and support the music students. The nonprofit has helped the department travel to perform at various venues and assisted with equipment purchases and instrument repairs.

Help the Friends on Sunday, May 5, by shopping at their silent auction at Outlets of Maui from 5 to 7 p.m. and enjoy a performance by the Jazz Band from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Donations are tax-deductible. Attend and support students in the Music Performing Arts Department.
