Help fund Lahaina’s biggest summer event
With the Fourth of July arriving next week, LahainaTown Action Committee is amid its annual fundraising effort to pay for Lahaina’s annual celebration and fireworks show.
As of mid-June, LAC’s fundraising committee was halfway toward its $50,000 goal.
With an estimated 20,000 attendees last year, Fourth of July is Lahaina Town’s biggest summer event and provides a major boost to business.
Stores, boats and restaurants should open their wallets and contribute to the celebration that requires a lot of work and planning by LahainaTown Action Committee.
LAC also invites the community to take part in the fundraising effort for the 2018 fireworks display.
“The Fourth of July celebration is a major economic event for Lahaina and Maui,” said Snehal Patel, LAC president.
“Lahaina is the place to be for Maui’s official aerial fireworks display. It’s an event residents and visitors have come to expect and enjoy, and something we are very proud to work on every year with the community.”
Fundraising progress can be tracked on goal banners located near Lahaina Recreation Center Park on Honoapiilani Highway and the 76 Station on Lahainaluna Road.
Donations for the Fourth of July celebration can be made by calling the Lahaina Visitor Center at (808) 667-9175, in person at 648 Wharf St. in Lahaina or online at www.visitlahaina.com.
