Help volunteers fix up the Napilihau Recreation Center
Westside Hoops Maui and some independent Maui Christian businessmen are teaming up to renovate the Napilihau Recreation Center.
The neighborhood center is home to Harvest Kumulani Chapel’s Kamp Kumulani and Kim Ball’s Napili Surfriders keiki wrestling program.
This is Kamp Kumulani’s 20th year in that location, and the Napili Surfriders have been wrestling – and producing future state champions at Lahainaluna High School – for 24 years.
Volunteers reported that the center “needs a lot of TLC and sprucing up.”
Estimated to cost about $45,000, the renovation project will include a new roof, siding and some structural reinforcements.
Westside Hoops Maui has already pledged $8,000, and a West Side builder has offered $5,000 in labor.
“That’s a good start,” Kumulani Chapel volunteers noted, “but more is needed!”
“This is a fun and very important project. Will you help us reach the goal?”
Donations can be made at www.westsidehoopsmaui.org (be sure to put “Napilihau Project” in the memo).
