Help provide school supplies for needy Maui children

By Staff | Jul 7, 2016

When the 2016-17 school year begins on Aug. 1, Maui United Way wants needy children to be fully equipped with school supplies.

Helped with sponsorship from Pacific Media Group, MUW recently launched its fourth annual Tools for School Drive to benefit children here on Maui.

Until July 11, donations will be accepted at boxes at Pacific Media Group, all Safeway locations, Ben Franklin, Ace Hardware (Lahaina, Kihei and Pukalani), County of Maui Mayor’s Office and Aloha International Employment.

All donations will be distributed through Maui United Way’s 36 nonprofit partner agencies.

MUW Community Impact Coordinator Makana Rosete said, “We were overwhelmed with the generosity of our community last summer. The 2015 Tools for School Drive was our most successful drive yet, nearly doubling donations, and we are hopeful that this year will be no different.”

Last year, the Maui community donated 3,500 items to

provide school supplies for 408 keiki.

Donate today to help keiki in need here on Maui!
