Support Women Helping Women’s important mission
From its start in 1977 as a grassroots campaign to provide assistance and support for women victims of domestic violence, Women Helping Women has steadily grown to become a vital nonprofit agency that offers a comprehensive array of services to more than 600 women, men and children each year.
Women Helping Women is a unique provider of crisis intervention and support services for direct and indirect victims of domestic violence.
The very important mission of the organization is to end domestic violence through advocacy, education and prevention, while offering safety, support and empowerment to those impacted by domestic violence.
Today, in its 39th year, the charity supports a staff of over 20 dedicated professionals, with offices in West Maui, Wailuku and on Lanai.
Women Helping Women is currently looking to purchase a moving truck for its donations. So, the WHW-West Maui Task Force will hold a benefit concert, “Songs to Break the Silence of Domestic Violence,” on Tuesday, June 7, at 6 p.m. at LuLu’s Lahaina Surf Club & Grill in Lahaina Cannery Mall. All ages are welcome.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door for the benefit that will feature music by Max Angel, Jason Phillips and Melepono, dancing, door prizes and food and drinks for purchase.
Tickets can be purchased at 5A Rent-A-Space or Plush Beauty Lounge. For information, call (808) 669-5200.
If you are unable to attend the event and would like to support the fundraiser, make a contribution online at www.womenhelpingwomenmaui.com/events/benefit-concert-june-7-2016/ (click the “donate” button).
