Buy a paver to support Lahainaluna’s stadium

By Staff | Nov 14, 2013

Through an incredible volunteer effort by the Lahainaluna High School Foundation, the historic school is getting a state-of-the-art sports and events stadium.

The public and businesses can support this effort – and be part of the stadium for generations to come – by purchasing a brick paver at the new facility.

Brick pavers have been part of the LHS stadium fundraising campaign since 2007. More than 280 have been sold.

LHSF has extended the deadline for brick paver orders until Dec. 31, 2013. You can pave the way for the project’s success and honor your family name or your business in perpetuity.

The commemorative brick pavers are available in three sizes and at four prices. The four-inch by eight-inch Pride & Spirit Paver has been reduced to $100. The eight-inch by eight-inch Torchbearer’s Paver is $500, and the Patron Paver ($1,000) and Patron Paver Plus ($1,500, with an emblem of the LHS school seal) are both 16 inches by 16 inches.

Currently, Hawaiian Dredging is doing site work, building demolition and retaining wall construction until LHSF obtains its building permit for the stadium bleachers and arrival building. The foundation anticipates final approval before the end of the month.

To buy pavers, use the order form at www.lahainalunahighschoolfoundation.org/. For help with the form, call the foundation office at (808) 661-5332.

According to Jeff Rogers of LHSF, paver sales are a vital facet of the stadium campaign.

“The brick pavers account for 54 percent of the fundraising we have done on a local level for the stadium… continued fundraising is important at this stage in order to increase the contingency fund. Residual funding will probably be set aside for the inevitable cost of replacing the artificial turf in about 8-10 years.”
