Help send Lahainaluna students to Nashville
Continuing a proud tradition at Lahainaluna High School, students in the Health and Medical Services Pathway recently earned trips to a prestigious national contest.
At the state level HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) competition, Lahainaluna’s young team qualified 12 students to the National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee from June 24 to July 1.
Congratulations to seniors Vincent Magno (who qualified in CPR/First Aid), Leslie Garo (Job Seeking Skills), Amanda Matsuda (Prepared Speaking), Paige Cajudoy (Pharmacology), Honeylynn Yabo (Public Service Announcement), Lark Canico (Public Service Announcement), Marella Galace (CPR/First Aid), Jenina Pascua (Public Service Announcement) and Vincent Sarian (Medical Assisting); juniors Ho’o Cabanilla (Extemporaneous Speaking) and Breea Yamat (Healthy Lifestyle); and sophomore Chantelle Baclay (Human Growth and Development).
At the national event, the Lahainaluna students will compete against peers nationwide who have advanced past their own district and state conferences. More than 3,000 students compete in over 50 medical-related and leadership events.
“It is a true experience of a lifetime!” the Luna team noted in a letter last week.
To help raise $2,000 per student for the hard-earned trip, the Lahainaluna team members seek donations “from community members and organizations who understand how important healthcare is and consider this as an investment, as we are the future of healthcare,” the students wrote.

These Lahaina students have worked hard to earn berths at the national HOSA contest. Help send them to Nashville!
