Fifth-grader Anamaria “Sina” Sulunga needs a kidney transplant.

The West Maui community has been rallying in recent weeks to “Save Our Sina.”

Anamaria “Sina” Sulunga, 11, of Napilihau recently found out she needs a kidney transplant.

“Funds are vital for the family, and we’re trying to help spread the word,” explained Laura Greene of Lahaina Canoe Club.

Sina’s family is part of the Lahaina Canoe Club ‘ohana. Her two brothers paddle with LCC’s keiki.

The canoe club on May 19 raised $1,200 for the Sulunga family by holding a car wash at First Hawaiian Bank in Lahaina.

Donations are accepted at Martin Lawrence Galleries at 790 Front St. (at the corner of Lahainaluna Road) and through Bank of Hawaii’s “Save our Sina Fund.”

“You can help make a difference and help save her. Chances are that if ‘Sina’ were your child, you would need help, too!”
