Dine out and help Hospice Maui

By Staff | Nov 3, 2011

For 30 years, Hospice Maui has played a very important role in our community.

Hospice Maui cares for the island’s terminally ill patients and their families, providing quality, compassionate care to help ease the physical, emotional and spiritual pain associated with illness.

Utilizing a team of nurses, social workers, spiritual counselors, home health aides, volunteers and a medical director, Hospice Maui provides services that allow patients to live each day to the fullest – with meaning and purpose – in accordance with patients’ values and beliefs.

Watch Hospice Maui at work, and you’ll realize the staff is amazing and a HUGE help in very difficult times.

Join island restaurants to support this vital charity on Tuesday, Nov. 15, in “Dining out for Hospice Maui.”

Plan a night out on the town or gather colleagues for an office lunch that day, and the 18 generous restaurants will donate a portion of their proceeds to Hospice Maui.

Here on the West Side, Honu Seafood & Pizza (see page 14) and Mala Ocean Tavern will participate in the benefit during lunch and dinner, and Lahaina Pizza Co. and Merriman’s Kapalua will contribute a portion of their dinner proceeds.

Visit www.hospicemaui.org for the complete list of participating restaurants.

Your support of this event will help Hospice Maui continue to meet the increasing need for hospice care and ensure that this essential service is available to all Maui residents in need, regardless of their ability to pay.

For information, or to make a donation, visit Hospice Maui’s website or call Development Director Kimber Carhart at 244-5555.
