New Titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max features an Action Button
I just received my new Titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max and set it up. Looking on the left side, you’ll find the volume up and down button, and at the top is a smaller button called the Action Button.
So, what does an Action Button do? Well, you press and hold the button to perform one task.
The default mode is set to Silent Mode. To set it to a different mode, open up Settings and scroll on down to Action Button. Swipe until you find a feature you’ll like.
I chose the Camera mode, and sometimes I switch to Flashlight. So when I press and hold the Action Button, the Camera comes on and I can take a picture.
Now, if you have an iPhone 15, you can save your battery from dying early. Go into Settings, Battery, select Battery Health & Charging, tap Charging Optimization and select 80 percent Limit. What this does is not charge your iPhone up to 100 percent, which causes wear on the lithium-ion battery and the risk of overheating.
So, for the battery to run at optimum performance, Apple advises that you keep the battery between 20 and 80 percent.
Instead of using AirDrop to send a photo to another iPhone, the new NameDrop is a fantastic way of keeping in touch. By simply placing the tops of two phones together, you can add your contacts or send pictures in a split second.
With iOS 17, you can leave a video message when someone misses a FaceTime request. You can also leave a quick note.
In Sonoma, you can create a web app of your favorite website — let’s try and make one. If you use First Hawaiian Bank, for example, open up Safari and type in fhb.com. Now click on File at the top left and then “Add to Dock.” What this does is eliminate opening up Safari and typing in FHB.com or clicking on the bookmark for it. Now, all you have to do is to click on the new FHB Icon. and you’re instantly there.
Also in Safari is a new feature called Private Mode. This opens up Safari in another window (separate from the first window) where you can view different web pages. Don’t confuse this with the Profile Mode. That creates another user in Safari, where you can have a whole separate user interface with your own websites.
In the new iMessage app, you have some cool features. If you do a thumb’s up, a thumb’s up emoji image of a thumb appears on the screen right next to your video picture that you’re sharing with friend. If you do a do a peace sign, a balloon pops up. With double thumbs up, you get fireworks; double peace sign is confetti.
You can choose screen sharing in iMessage with the other person and show them a picture or what the new app you bought looks like. Or you could also look at a problem they are having on their screen and maybe fix it.
Did you know that Siri can read articles in Safari? And in Sonoma, you can now change the text in each app to make it larger. Go to Settings, Vision, Display — under the submenu, you’ll see different apps. You can click on one and change the size.
In System Settings under Mouse is Acceleration, which can make your mouse move faster.
Well, this is just the start of showing you all the new features in iOS-17 and Sonoma, so get ready for more cool features.
