Add photos to your list of contacts
Here is a really good tip for copying something like a photo from your iPhone to your Mac.
Most people use AirDrop to send a photo from the iPhone to a computer, but a faster way is to use the copy and PASTE method.
Let me give you an example. Open up TextEdit or Pages or Word on your Mac. On your iPhone, open up Photos and choose a photo. Press your finger on the photo and a menu pops up. Choose COPY. Go back to your Mac with the program you opened. Press your mouse in the center of the page and right-click on it — a menu pops up. Choose PASTE. If it didn’t work, it’s because you don’t have Bluetooth turned on in your iPhone. This copy and paste not only works with copying photos, but you can copy text and paste it into WORD, PAGES or TEXT EDIT… even e-mails.
Ever wanted to place a photo of a person or friend into your Contacts? You can do this using the Photo App. Open up Photos and double-click on a photo of a friend. Click on Edit at the very top left, and a whole bunch of Menus appear. Don’t freak out — we’ll just choose CROP at the top. Now we can crop and size just the head of the person that we’ll paste into the contacts. After you crop the photo, click on DONE at the very top right. Close Photos and reopen up Photos. Search and find the head of the cropped photo. We’ll just click on it and drag it to the Desktop. Now here comes the fun part, because were going to paste the cropped head sitting on your desktop into the Contact. So now open up Contacts on the Mac and choose your friend.
There you see a big grey circle that appears on the top. That’s where you will paste the cropped photo you made. So, to do that, just drag the Desktop Photo over to the big grey circle and drop it in. That’s it. Now click on Save and your done.
When you open up Contacts and choose your friend, his or her photo appears. If you just feel lazy and don’t want to go through the process of cropping, you could just drag a full photo of your friend with the background in it to the Desktop, then drag it onto the big grey circle in the contacts. You’ll see a slider bar under the photo in the circle, and you can slide it to adjust the image. If you want to do this in your iPhone, it’s really easy. Just open up a contact, and a grey circle appears on the top. Click on ADD PHOTO. A menu appears with four blue circles. Choose the one that has a square with a mountain in it. That opens up Photos, and you can tap on the one you want.
Wow! The photo gets blown up and jumps right out at you. Cool, huh? Just click on CHOOSE, and it appears again but smaller. Click on DONE on the top right. Click on DONE again, and click on DONE one more time.
That’s it. Now, wasn’t that fun adding photos to all your contacts?
