Well, I finally broke down and coughed up the money for a pair of the new Apple Air Pods 2 Pro. After trying to figure out all the cool stuff it does, I was blown away.

I’ll tell you all the fantastic features it can do for you, and then you decide if you want to spring for a pair.

First of all, the case has a tiny speaker, and if you lose it, you can use the FIND App on your iPhone to locate it. The case will make a small chirping sound when your near it.

Also you can also just find one Air Pod if it’s lost, and you can ask Siri to find your Air Pods. Siri will ask you if you want to play a sound to locate them.

Get this: if you lost them at the airport, any iPhone user around them will be able (in the background) to transfer the location to your iPhone.

Okay — now for the use of them. There are about three different ways that you can try out. The first is Transparency Mode. What that means is if you have your Air Pods stuck in your ear, you’ll be able to hear everything outside of them, like they aren’t even in your ear. In other words they won’t act like having earplugs clogging up your ears.

The second one is Live Listen. When you have this feature activated, the sound is picked up by your iPhone speaker and transferred to your Air Pods. This is almost like having an inexpensive hearing aid. And if you place your iPhone on another table across the room, you’ll be able to hear the whole conversation like it was right next to you.

The next one is called Background Sounds. When you activate that, you get to choose sounds like Rain, Ocean, or River. So if you want to relax or snooze to the relaxing sounds, you get a few choices. It’s like White Noise.

The neatest thing I found is that when watching a video, you can remove one Air Pod from your ear and the video pauses, so that you can run to the fridge and grab another beer.

These Apple Air Pods can also be used on an Android Phone. The back of the white case has a button that when pressed will pair it to the Android phone.

Not only can you use the Air Pods to answer calls and listen to music, but you can send e-mails and even translate messages. It takes a while to get used to all the features, but if you have an Apple TV, it’s really easy to set up and listen to movies.

One of the most useful features of the Air Pods is the volume control. All you have to do is slide your finger up or down the Air Pod stem.

You can also charge the AirPods on the Apple Watch charging pad.
