Check out the new Freeform App
The new Freeform App in Mac Ventura looks like a white board. Here you can create objects like circles and squares, and add photos and text. Then you can share what you created with specific people and let them edit and change things around to their liking.
An architect could draw a pre-sketch of a new building project and send it off to a builder. He, in return, can add or remove segments in the drawings within the white board. For myself, I can’t ever think how I would use this in the computer repair business.
When you finish with the project, you’ll want to print it out — and now comes the best part. People don’t realize the many cool features that Print has. Let’s try out some for fun.
Open up any document and click on File, Print. The Print screen opens up, and at the bottom is PRINT. But before you press on PRINT, let’s check out other features you can choose from.
With the new Ventura, sometimes you have to scroll all the way down to the bottom to see PRINT. After you get to the bottom, you get to see the features like Media & Quality, Layout, Paper Handling, Watermark, and Printer information. Underneath all of that is the PDF button. Pressing on that creates a PDF file so you can save the document.
So, let’s look at the other features starting with Media & Quality. Go ahead and click on it. There you get to choose an envelope, or photo or plain paper. If you have the glossy photo paper, then choose that. The Quality gives you Normal or Best. I always choose BEST. The Feed From gives you to option to print from the bottom tray or top tray of your printer if your printer has both trays. Layout gives you the option to place a border around the page, and you can flip it horizontally. Paper Handling gives you options to print all the pages to paper sizes like 4” x 6,” letter, envelope, postcard and 8” x 10.”
The best part is placing a watermark on top of your document. What is a watermark? It’s text or letters that look like a big rubber stamp over your document. You get to choose color, size and angles. You should try this cool feature out.
Now if you created a PDF, you can open that in Preview and add photos, text and change anything around. In a Pages document, you can insert a photo taken live from your iPhone camera.
You have try this cool feature out: in Pages, choose Media at the top, Take a Photo. With your iPhone open and Bluetooth turned on, all of a sudden the iPhone Camera comes on. All you have to do is click on the white dot, and the photo instantly appears on the pages document page.
Were you scared of going to the dentist’s office, as I was? Well, my dentist, Dr. Brown from Kahana Family Dentist, is one of the most awesome dentists you could ever want to visit.
I had a chance to sit in the chair and drill him with questions that I always wanted an answer to. And he took off his goggles, turned off the drill, and we had the most amazing conversation about digital photographing of teeth to radiation effects, mixing the dental glue paste for crowns and the whole effects of getting a cavity, diagnosing it and repairing it.
I give him five stars and recommend anyone needing any dental work to call his office.
