Volunteers vital to Sentry Tournament of Champions
KAPALUA – We are less than 30 days from the start of the Sentry Tournament of Champions and watching the best PGA Tour players in the world compete at The Plantation Course at Kapalua. It is always an amazing week of great golf, food, friends and family.
When an event runs as smoothly as the Sentry Tournament of Champions does each year, it’s easy to forget the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to make it happen. And every January, our volunteer force makes it possible to stage a world-class event in West Maui.
From marshals that help the competition run smoothly, to our on-road transportation team that makes sure fans get where they need to be at the course, there are so many ways that volunteers touch the tournament – it is not an understatement to say the event wouldn’t happen without their enthusiastic work.
A golf tournament is a bit like a city that is operational one week out of the year, and our volunteers are the catalyst for operating that city. And as the tournament approaches, we are still looking for volunteers to join our team and help make this event the best it can be.
Whether you love golf, enjoy making lasting friendships or want to help the event give back to the community – it has donated more than $6.3 million to local charities since 1999 – the Sentry Tournament of Champions has a place for you if you are interested.
