Up Front Lahaina
… Well, the Sweetheart Affair was well-attended. The event is the ROTARY CLUB OF LAHAINA’S major push to fund scholarships for Lahainaluna and Molokai High School students. GEORGE KAHUMOKU was his usual great in performing, but I wonder with so many talented band musicians looking for work, why do we settle on canned music? There has to be a biodegradable plastic bag out there!!…
… Senate Bill 232 passed and the governor will sign it. What seems to be lost in the maze here is that this bill is not just for same-sex couples — it is also for heterosexual couples, which is huge for couples living together but not ready to tie the knot…
… business is creeping back — and I mean creeping. Every retailer I talk with says it’s a little better but still a long way to go — same for the realtors. But the word is positive…
