Mobile Medical Education Unit assists community at event

On Monday, the Mobile Medical Education Unit was stationed along Kalama Park offering Maui’s houseless community mental health services, food stamps, non-critical wound care, clothing, and much more.
Mahalo to Community Partners:
Aloha House: provided 14 clients with services regarding substance abuse and mental health, and provided one-on-one services to four clients.
Chaplain Ministries of Maui: provided 14 clients with information on housing and other available services.
Department of Education: distributed food and hygiene kits, sunscreen, and other personal care items.
Dr. Ricalde-Garcia: provided three clients with medical care kits and one client with medical non-critical wound care.
Life Wireless: provided 14 clients with information on free government services and distributed two phones.
Maui Aids Foundation: distributed hygiene kits and Narcan.
Maui Humane Society: provided four clients with various services; distributed food, collars, leashes, harnesses, vaccinations, and microchips.
Project Vision: provided 14 clients with information on SNAP benefits.
The MMEU will be providing services within Kalama Park, Mondays through the month of March between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
