LAHAINA — On Dec. 14, Lahainaluna High School held a class-wide Safety Training Event.
Ninth-graders were provided instruction and practice time learning lifesaving skills such as identifying an emergency situation, calling 911, Hands-Only CPR, abdominal thrusts during a choking situation, and bleeding control.
Maui Fire Department collaborated with Health Services Pathway upperclassmen who have already been CPR, HIPAA and BLS certified.
These students helped instruct and guide ninth-graders through MFD’s instructional approaches.
Mahalo to John Devlin and Maui Fire Department and Lahainaluna teachers Malia Shimomura, Cliffane Casco and Marc Watasaki for making this event possible.
