Popular Lahaina Restoration Foundation event returns Sept. 28

KAHULUI — Lahaina Restoration Foundation is honored to bring back the Hawaiian Music Series to the community on Thursday, Sept. 28, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The free concert will be held at a new location — the Great Lawn of UH Maui College — and will feature young local talent Logan Kalawaia.
Born and raised on Maui, Logan grew up surrounded by a family of musical talents. Both his father as well as several of his uncles were musicians. Therefore, this young artist was inevitably drawn towards the music field, which has now become his life.
This free concert has been a tradition for 15 years in Lahaina, held on the last Thursday of every month. Made possible by Lahaina Restoration Foundation with support from the Maui County Office of Economic Development, the special location of this month is kindly provided by UH Maui College.
Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s commitment and desire during this challenging time of grief and loss is to support the community by keeping our beloved Lahaina traditions alive.
LRF wholeheartedly hopes that an evening of uplifting Hawaiian music and sense of togetherness will bring a moment of relief, hopefulness and lightheartedness to our grieving community’s hearts.
The event starts at 6 p.m. on the Great Lawn fronting the mural on the main campus of UH Maui College. Please bring your own blankets, mats and low-back beach chairs to enjoy the music on the lawn. Free parking is available onsite.
