Lahaina District Court to meet in Wailuku

Lahaina District Court will convene in Wailuku District Court following the wildfire that destroyed much of Lahaina town earlier this month.
Under the emergency order issued Wednesday by 2nd Circuit Court Chief Judge Peter Cahill, all Lahaina Division cases with court dates from Aug. 9 to 17 have been rescheduled to future dates, with the exception of temporary restraining orders, which continue to be heard in Wailuku District Court. Court dates may be subject to rescheduling.
Lahaina District Court for this week will be reset to Wailuku District Court during the week of Sept. 11 under the following schedule:
• Courtroom 3D: Traffic/criminal defendants with last names A through L which were set for Mondays will be heard at 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays; cases set for Wednesdays will be heard at 9:30 a.m. Thursdays. Temporary restraining orders will be heard at 9:30 a.m. Mondays. Small claims will be heard at 2 p.m. Mondays.
• Courtroom 3C: Traffic/criminal defendants with last names M through Z which were set for Mondays will be heard at 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays; cases set for Wednesdays will be heard at 9:30 a.m. Thursdays. Regular claims will be heard at 10:30 a.m. Mondays.
Unless otherwise ordered by the court, subsequent weeks will be scheduled in accordance with this schedule.
All Lahaina Division traffic default judgments will be stayed for a period of 60 days.
