In person county budget meetings begin March 30

WAILUKU — Mayor Richard T. Bissen Jr. submitted his first proposed budget to the Maui County Council on Friday, March 24.

The council’s Budget, Finance and Economic Development Committee will review and vote on revisions in daytime meetings throughout April.

The committee will host the following area evening meetings to receive community comments. All meetings begin at 6 p.m.

LAHAINA — Thursday, March 30, at Lahaina Civic Center Social Hall at 1840 Honoapiilani Highway;

MOLOKAI — Friday, March 31, at the Mitchell Pauʻole Community Center at 90 Ainoa St.;

PAIA — Monday, April 3, in the Paia Community Center Social Hall at 252 Hana Highway;

HANA — Thursday, April 6, in the Hana High and Elementary School Cafeteria at 4111 Hana Highway;

KIHEI — Monday, April 10, at Kihei Community Center at 303 E. Lipoa St.;

MAKAWAO — Wednesday, April 12, at the Mayor Hannibal Tavares Community Center at 91 Pukalani St.;

LANAI — Thursday, April 13, in the Lanai High and Elementary School Cafeteria at 555 Fraser Avenue;

WAILUKU-KAHULUI — The council will hold both a public hearing and the Wailuku-Waiheʻe-Waikapu and Kahului residency area meetings on April 14 at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber.
