LAHAINA — LahainaTown Action Committee and the Rotary Clubs of Lahaina are excited to announce the return of the 43rd annual Halloween Keiki Parade on Front Street on Monday, Oct. 31.

The parade will start at 4 p.m. at the Outlets of Maui along Papalaua Street, with keiki marching down to Campbell Park across from Lahaina Public Library.

Front Street in the affected area will close to motorists at 3 p.m. and then reopen immediately after the parade.

“We are so grateful for the support from the County of Maui and our Lahaina Police Department to be able to help us bring back this fun family event to Front Street,” said Sne Patel, LahainaTown Action Committee president.

“This year’s event will be modified with safety and limited resources top of mind,” he added, and will include only the traditional keiki parade.

Mayor Michael Victorino will serve as grand marshal of the parade.

The hundreds of keiki will be joined by the Lahainaluna High School Marching Band, Maui Shriners, Maui Classic Cruisers vehicles, Rotary Club presidents and two International Rotary Exchange Students in convertibles.

Keiki are invited to don their best costume, march down Front Street and walk across the stage at Campbell Park to receive a bag of goodies.

“We’ll have the traditional kickoff by Parade Marshall Mayor Victorino, who will lead the Lahainaluna Marching Band and Maui Shriners Clubs along beautiful Front Street,” said Joseph Pluta, the parade’s master of ceremonies for over 43 years.

This is a pedestrian parade only — no vehicles, bicycles, skateboards or golf carts.

“We hope this event brings a smile to our keiki, who have missed out on this fun night due to the pandemic,” Patel said, “and we look forward to bringing this back on a larger scale in 2023.”
