LAHAINA — LahainaTown Action Committee and the County of Maui Mayor’s Office of Economic Development are thrilled to announce that the Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular will return to West Maui on Monday after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I along with the entire LAC Board are ecstatic to bring this event back. The July Fourth celebration has been a great economic driver for Lahaina Town and is a time-honored tradition enjoyed by both the community and visitors alike,” said Sne Patel, LahainaTown Action Committee board president. “We mahalo the Mayor’s Office, the Office of Economic Development and the Maui Police and Fire Departments for making this comeback possible. We are so grateful to the businesses who have stepped up with financial contributions after surviving the economic hardships of the pandemic.”
All are invited to stroll historic Lahaina and enjoy the holiday specials in many oceanfront restaurants and town shops.
A fireworks display lighting the night sky over Lahaina is scheduled for 8 p.m. from a barge offshore of Front Street.
Fireworks can be viewed from charter boats in Lahaina Harbor and on land throughout Lahaina Town.
Live music in Campbell Park begins at 5 p.m. and is sponsored by Lahaina Restoration Foundation and Lahaina Rotary Clubs. Enjoy music by the Chop Suey Jazz Orchestra, Na Ali’i Big Band and the Maui Community Band.
There will be no parking on Front Street on Monday, July 4, from 2:30 to 8:30 p.m. from Papalaua Street to Prison Street. Front Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
