Rotary Clubs join forces to collect school supplies

LAHAINA — From Sept. 3-5, three Lahaina Rotary Clubs will collect school supplies for children in need.
These three days of School Supplies Drives are part of the Rotary Days of Service effort. The focus of this fall effort addresses basic education and literacy and is branded “Rotary Aloha for Keiki.”
The collection effort will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking area fronting Longs Drugs at Lahaina Cannery Mall.
On Friday, Sept. 3, the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset will collect supplies and funds for students at Princess Nahienaena and Hana Elementary Schools.
On Saturday, Sept. 4, the Rotary Club of Lahaina will collect supplies and funds for students at Lahaina Intermediate School.
And on Sunday, Sept. 5, the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise will collect supplies and funds for students at King Kamehameha III School.
According to Maui Resource Team Leader Joanne Laird, “This is the 14th consecutive year of the Rotary-sponsored School Supplies Drives on Maui.
“Members of the three Rotary Clubs of West Maui are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in need. We are grateful for the support of the management of the Lahaina Cannery Mall to allow our clubs to host these three days of collections for our keiki.”
