Rotary district governor to be virtual speaker at Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset Zoom meeting
WEST MAUI – At 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18, the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset will feature Naomi Masuno, district governor of the 52 Rotary Clubs in Hawaii, as the virtual speaker.
Masuno is a member of the Rotary Club of West Honolulu and has been a Rotarian since 2002.
She served as East Honolulu Club President (2006-07), District Awards Chair (2008-14), District Secretary 2014-15) and District Treasurer (2016-18), and served on numerous district committees.
She is committed to supporting the district and club leadership to carry out the mission of Rotary.
She recently retired from Bank of Hawaii as Vice President, Channel Sales Manager in the Retail Lending Division at Bank of Hawaii. She has more than three decades of banking experience, including assignments as business banker and branch manager.
She has a passion for championing the cause of helping small businesses to succeed and has participated as a guest speaker at numerous workshops sponsored by U.S. Small Business Administration, SCORE, U.S. Department of Transportation, state Department of Transportation, state Department of Agriculture, Wounded Warriors Program and the Hawaii Pacific Export Council.
For the past ten years, Masuno has been on the steering committee to organize business fairs on Oahu, which offers a venue for small businesses owners to gain access to information and resources to start or grow their business.
As one of the top SBA lending officers from 2004 through 2011, she supports the SBA’s programs.
Masuno was named the SBA 2014 Financial Services Champion of the Year for the State of Hawaii, and she received the SBA Director’s Choice Award in 2016. In 2019, she received the Makana Ho’oko No Ke Ola SBA Special Lifetime Legacy Award.
