Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui announce Reservation-only Summer Day Camp

By Staff | Jul 9, 2020

Director of Operations Stephen Bennett and clubhouse directors practice the summer day camp check-in process in preparation for July 1.

LAHAINA – Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui began welcoming members for Reservation-only Summer Day Camp on July 1 at the Central, Haiku, Lahaina and Makawao clubhouses.

“This is going to be a very different summer at the Boys & Girls Clubs; drop-in hours have been discontinued, space will be limited and many of our members will continue to join us virtually,” said Director of Operations Stephen Bennett.

“We are doing our best to serve as many youth and families as possible during these ever-changing times and appreciate the patience, understanding and support of the community as we continue to adjust our programs to meet our members most pressing needs.”

Program hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a goal to provide onsite programming to small groups of existing members ages 9-11, children of essential workers and those returning to work while following all of the new health and safety regulations due to COVID-19.

Membership fees remain waived until June 30, 2021 to accommodate families who’ve been impacted financially.

“We are grateful for the support we’ve received from the County of Maui and our community partners,” said CEO Kelly Pearson.

“We rely on this support to continue our mission of serving Maui’s youth and families, and remain accessible to those who need us most.”
