Pueo Pilot a full scholarship to Maui Prep

By Staff | Feb 20, 2020

NAPILI – The Pueo Pilot Scholarship is a fully-funded merit scholarship that is awarded to a high school student for four years. Each year, rising high school students from all over Maui County apply for the scholarship that is granted to one deserving individual to attend Maui Preparatory Academy in Napili.

This scholarship is funded by generous individuals in the West Maui community who wish to provide academic opportunities and socioeconomic diversity to this college preparatory school.

Through a detailed application and personal interview process, ambitious students share their talents, passions and dreams with Maui Prep. The scholarship is awarded to a student with a strong academic record who also demonstrates leadership potential in the fine and performing arts, community service, athletics and/or student government.

The school aims to attract high-impact change-makers to contribute to Maui Prep’s transformative learning community, as well as the broader West Maui community.

“As a new student at Maui Prep through the Pueo Pilot, I feel my life has changed for the better. I truly wish everyone could have this amazing experience and have the opportunity to join the Maui Prep ‘Ohana,” said Dillon Jonke of the Class of 2023

“This prestigious scholarship has given me many opportunities to expand my learning through academics, athletics and volunteer work Without this scholarship, I would not have the experiences and skills needed to prepare for college,” said Aiesha Pradhan, Class of 2021.

“The Pueo Pilot Scholarship has allowed me to pursue my athletic, academic and extracurricular passions and interests in a learning environment that will guide me far into the future. I am beyond grateful for the opportunities the Pueo Pilot Scholarship has allowed me access to – the scholarship has changed my life and will propel me far in achieving my future goals.” said Peyton Gillespie of the Class of 2021

These scholars have been able to thrive in this academic environment due in part to this scholarship program.
