Cultural director of the Wo Hing Museum to speak at Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset

Dr. Busaba Yip Douglas now coordinates the ongoing Wo Hing research project, continuing to reveal new insight into the history of Chinese immigrants in Hawaii.

KAANAPALI – Dr. Busaba Yip Douglas will speak at the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset on Tuesday, March 3.

The meeting will be held at The Royal Ocean Terrace at the Royal Lahaina Resort from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

She will speak about the Chinese people in Hawaii and the Wo Hing Society.

Dr. Douglas received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education Psychology and spent 15 years working in education and community development in rural Thailand before coming to North America.

She earned a Master’s Degree from Trent University in Ontario, Canada, followed by a Ph.D. in Integral Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.
