WMTA announces lineup for 2020 Annual Meeting
LAHAINA – The public is welcome to join West Maui Taxpayers Association at its Annual Meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, in Lahaina Civic Center’s Social Hall.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m., the free dinner line starts at 5 p.m., and a short business meeting (to include the election of WMTA’s Board of Directors) will kick off the agenda at 5:30 p.m.
The event will feature presentations on issues and projects that affect the West Maui community.
Speakers and project updates include West Maui State Sen. Roz Baker; West Maui State Rep. Angus McKelvey; Maui County Mayor Michael Victorino; West Maui County Councilwoman Tamara Paltin; Pam Eaton on the Maui County Long Range Community Plan; Pulelehua at Mahinahina; Keawe Street Apartments in Lahaina; and?Lahaina Town Shoreline Improvement Project by Maui County Public Works.
Joseph D. Pluta of WMTA noted, “While housing for our workforce has been a priority over the past 40 years, health and safety have been on the top of the list. We have made significant inroads towards both.”
