Six Maui Rotary Clubs work as one for island-wide food drive for Maui Food Bank

Members of the Rotary Club of Kihei-Wailea accepted food and cash donations for Maui Food Bank at Kihei Safeway during the 2018 drive.

For the 13th consecutive year, six Rotary Clubs on Maui will be involved in an island-wide food drive for the Maui Food Bank on Saturday Nov. 9.

On this day, Rotary Club members will be at entrance doors of business establishments accepting non-perishables and cash donations for the Maui Food Bank.

The clubs and locations are: Rotary Club of Kahului, Safeway Maui Lani; Rotary Club of Upcountry, Safeway Kahului; Rotary Club of Kihei-Wailea, Safeway Kihei; Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset, Safeway Lahaina; Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise, Times Honokowai; and Rotary Club of Lahaina, Island Grocery Depot, Lahaina.

Hours of the food drive are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The goal of the Maui Food Bank is to provide hunger relief for anyone who might be in need.

Food and funds collected will be able to provide food for working poor families, seniors on fixed incomes and single parents who rely on the Maui Food Bank just to make it month-to-month.
