NAPILI – Maui Preparatory Academy has received one of the most significant gifts in the school’s 14-year history from former Board of Trustee President Scott Ralphs Shoemaker.

The incredible $250,000 gift will support the long-term sustainability of the school.

An entrepreneur, athlete and philanthropist, Shoemaker is a long-time advocate for Maui Preparatory Academy.

His daughter, Samantha Shoemaker, is a Maui Prep alumni currently attending Savannah College of Art and Design. She is majoring in Film and Television.

“Scott Shoemaker has been committed to the mission and vision of Maui Preparatory Academy for over 14 years,” said Jim Bozich, current Board of Trustee president.

“He has been an unwavering advocate for our students and has supported a wide range of strategic initiates, critical to Maui Preparatory Academy’s long-term sustainability and the success of our students,” Bozich added.

“This transformative gift ensures that Maui Preparatory Academy can grow and continue the work of preparing students for college and careers for a long time to come.”

Scott heads a growing list of community members who have stepped up to support Maui Preparatory Academy’s “Give a Little Aloha” capital campaign, to fund the construction of the school’s new Bozich Center for Athletics and Performing Arts.

Launched in 2018, the capital campaign has raised nearly $3.6 million in gifts and pledges.

The new Bozich Center will enable Maui Preparatory Academy to be a more engaged and collaborative neighbor as it discovers new ways to connect with the greater West Maui community.

Those interested in contributing to the Capital Campaign fund are invited to contact Maui Preparatory Academy at (808) 665-9966, extension 114.
