NAPILI – This Christmas, many children on Molokai have a reason to celebrate, as Maui Preparatory Academy delivered on Project Give a Gift.

For seven years, local businesses, families and students have donated new toys and holiday food packages to the children served by Child Protective Services on Molokai.

This year, more than 200 toys and 400 pounds of food were delivered to 15 foster families.

Through the help of volunteers, Maui Preparatory Academy collects and distributes toys each year to each young client served by Child Protective Services on Molokai.

Project Give a Gift requires months of preparation that culminates on delivery day, which was held this year on Thursday, Dec. 6, when Goodfellow Brothers transported the holiday gifts and trimmings to Kaunakakai Harbor.

Molokai Police and Fire Departments pitched in to move all donated gifts to Hale Makua, which generously donated a festive event space for the delivery.

Finally, Iron Imu and Better Together Photography made the afternoon extra special with a holiday meal and photos with Santa.

The 27 children had all holiday wishes fulfilled by Maui Prep’s own Santa and Mrs. Claus, Anne and Fred Golestani, who answered the childrens’ letters to Santa. No request was left unfilled.

Maui Preparatory Academy thanks all of those who made this year’s Project Give a Gift so incredibly special. Happy holidays!
