Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset recognizes Vocational Service Awards recipients

LAHAINA – At a recent “Celebrations Meeting,” the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset presented the 2018 Vocational Service Awards to an individual and a local business.
These award recipients were selected for demonstrating integrity through high ethical behavior that is the foundation of Rotary. The recipients provide a road map for ethical behavior in the workplace and other areas of life.
According to the club, the recipients truly demonstrate the Rotary philosophy of “Service Above Self.”
The Individual Vocational Service Award is presented annually to an individual who provides outstanding service to the community and/or the club.
Jenny Heagney of Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in Lahaina received this award for her many efforts in providing volunteers to assist with the monthly “Go for the Green” Recycling events at Lahaina Cannery Mall.
The Business, Nonprofit or Organization Vocational Service Award is presented annually to a group that provides outstanding service to the community and/or the club.
The award was presented to the Royal Lahaina Resort, which was represented by Amy Johnston, catering and events director.
The property has provided the club with this central meeting location since it was chartered in September 2014.
According to the club, Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant staff have always worked hard to provide club members and guests with great service and smiles. The resort and staff have served the club as the site of its very successful “St. Patrick’s Day Go for the Green Fundraiser” since 2015.
The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset is one of ten Rotary Clubs located on Maui and Lanai. Rotary is a leadership organization made up of local business, professional and civic leaders.
