Full day of events scheduled in Lahaina on the Fourth of July
LAHAINA – A full day of entertainment and family activities is slated in Lahaina on Wednesday, July 4, leading up to the annual fireworks display at 8 p.m.
In Banyan Tree Park, local Maui crafters will be present from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy?live music by Haiku Hillbilly’s at 10 a.m., followed by Arlie?Avery Asiu at noon, Kapule & Friends at 1:30 p.m. and Maui Music Mission keiki at 3:30 p.m.
At Campbell Park between The Wharf Cinema Center and Baldwin Home Museum, Official Lahaina Town Fourth of July T?shirts will be on sale from 2 to 9 p.m. (while supplies last). Deejay Ron will play music from 3 to 5 p.m., and ono food will be available for purchase from 4 to 9 p.m.
Banyan Tree and Campbell Park entertainment is sponsored by Mega Vega Properties, Hawaii Gelato, Pioneer Inn, Cheeseburger in Paradise and Alexander & Baldwin.
On the Lahaina Public Library lawn, the Chop Suey Jazz Orchestra will perform from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by Na Ali’i Big Band?at 6 p.m. and Maui Community Band at 7 p.m. This entertainment is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise, Jazz Maui, and Hawaii Tourism Authority.
Nevah Too Late will perform at The Wharf Cinema Center from 5 to 7 p.m.
LahainaTown Action Committee invites the community to take part in the fundraising effort for the 2018 fireworks display celebrating the Fourth of July in Lahaina Town. The fundraising goal is $50,000.
“The Fourth of July celebration is a major economic event for Lahaina and Maui,” said Snehal Patel, president of LahainaTown Action Committee.
“Lahaina is the place to be for Maui’s official aerial fireworks display. It’s an event residents and visitors have come to expect and enjoy, and something we are very proud to work on every year with the community.”
Last year, with the generosity of the community and business leaders, the successful event had an estimated 20,000 attendees.
Major sponsors of last year’s festivities include MegaVega Properties, Alexander & Baldwin, Hawaii Gelato, Kimo’s Restaurant, Lahaina Fish Co. and Pioneer Inn.
