By Staff | Apr 5, 2018

Darren Lee of “Burn’n Love” will perform at the town party, followed by Kona Storm and Red Dirt.

LAHAINA – The Lahaina Second Friday Town Party on April 13 will be one of the most anticipated events of the year: the sixth annual Classic Car Show & ’50s Rock and Roll Party.

Both Campbell Park and Front Street’s 600 and 700 blocks (Prison Street to Lahainaluna Road) will come alive with LahainaTown Action Committee and Cool Cat Cafe’s Classic Car Show.

Darren Lee, Lahaina’s notorious “Elvis,” will open the show from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Kona Storm will follow with live rock and blues, then Lahaina’s own Red Dirt will play from 8 to 9 p.m.

The event will be broadcast via live remote from Campbell Park with KONI 104.7 and Michael McCartney.

Cool Cat Cafe’s 808 Challenge will return on center stage at Campbell Park. Trophies and Cool Cat Cafe gift certificates will be awarded in three categories plus a Best in Show prize of $500 cash. A new category has been added this year: the People’s Choice Award.

Cast a vote for your favorite car at the LAC booth at Campbell Park from 6 to 7 p.m. KPOA’s Ke’van will emcee the event and announce the winners at 7:30 p.m.

The event is co-sponsored by LahainaTown Action Committee, Cool Cat Cafe and the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development.

Applications for classic cars are available at www.visitlahaina.com or call 667-9175. The event is limited to 100 cars, so sign up now.
