Guests enjoying last year’s Maui Prep Winter Gala.

NAPILI – Maui Preparatory Academy announced that its biggest fundraising event of the year – The Maui Prep Winter Gala Gatsby Style – will be held on Saturday evening, Feb. 3, at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. This year’s honorees are Mary Anne Fitch and Nam Le Viet for their tremendous passion and incredible generosity over the years for Maui Prep.

All proceeds from this event will benefit the school’s Financial Aid Program. Maui Prep, located in Napili, has a diverse student body and offers financial assistance to over 40 percent of its students.

This fun and elegant event begins at 5 p.m. with cocktails, gourmet pupus and a chock-full silent auction. Guests will enjoy a spectacular sit-down dinner featuring a farm-fresh feast in the newly renovated Monarchy Ballroom.

The festive “Twenties” theme will come to life with beautiful decorations and fun surprises around the room. The not-to-be-missed live auction with Warren Gibson of Warren & Annabelle’s Magic will be followed by dancing to the live music of Kelly Covington and Raw Silk.

Maui Preparatory Academy, now in its 13th year, is the West Side’s only accredited independent school from preschool through 12th grade. MPA provides a college prep, academic interdisciplinary program combining arts enrichment, athletics and community service as part of its core values.

Maui Prep has been recognized regionally, nationally and internationally for its exceptional programs. iPueo, their Robotics Team, won the state championship in 2015 and went on to place in the top 15 percent in the world competition.

Over the years, Maui Prep teams and individual students have won state and regional Science Olympiad awards and have gone on to compete in the national competitions.

Maui Prep has also been making its mark in MIL and state sports competitions. Last year’s swim team brought in two gold medals in the state championships and a MIL champion; their track and field team brought in a MIL silver medal and qualified for the state championships; the Maui Prep golf team came in second in the MIL, with players qualifying for states; and the girls surf team brought home the MIL title along with silver medals in individual competition.

The Maui Prep Winter Gala Gatsby Style will be an unforgettable night out on the town and a wonderful way to invest in the education and future of Maui’s children.
