West Maui Lions to help the homeless this holiday season
LAHAINA – Lahaina’s Mauna Kahalawai Lions Club Branch, a branch club of Maui Lions Club, is gearing up to help the less fortunate over the upcoming holiday season.
This year in early December, the Lahaina club plans to go out to the homeless not living in shelters and
distribute hygiene bags.
The club invites the community to donate any small items, such as soaps, shampoos or any items associated with hygiene practices, preventative measures to reduce the incidence and spreading of disease and personal health care.
All donations can be dropped off in the collection bin at Napa Auto Parts at 1058 Limahana Place in the Lahaina Industrial Area through Tuesday, Dec. 5.
The club is hoping to pass out around 200-250 hygiene packs.
They ask that area businesses reading this press release offer to contribute to this wonderful cause and help people during the holiday season.
The club currently meets on the third Thursday of each month at the J3 Warehouse in Emerald Plaza beginning at 6 p.m.
If you are interested in becoming a member, or if you would like to donate items for the hygiene bags, call Lisa Puaa at (808) 264-1151 or e-mail lisa@dabarefootwarrior.com.
