An Evening of Aloha: Live auction and dinner to benefit Sacred Hearts School
LAHAINA – Visitors from around the globe flock to Maui to immerse themselves in the “spirit of aloha.” This unique sensation leaves us more content, more friendly, and especially, more generous.
Sacred Hearts School harnesses this tangible feeling with An Evening of Aloha, now in its tenth successful year. Parents of present and past students, Sacred Hearts alumni, generous donors, auction aficionados and anyone who enjoys mixing and mingling are invited to this community event on Nov. 18 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Aloha spirit greets revelers as they enter the quaint venue, the historic Pioneer Inn nestled in the heart of Lahaina.
Anthony Martinez of J. Anthony Martinez Photography and Megan Bianucci of White Lotus Photography provide each attendee with a complimentary portrait.
The setting sun over Lanai is a picturesque backdrop as guests sip cocktails and place bids in a silent auction. The silent auction offers a chance to secure restaurant gift certificates, hotel stays or exciting excursions, fine art, gifts and fabulous services all generously donated by local businesses.
The festivities then move to the courtyard of the Pioneer Inn with a sumptuous dinner catered by the Pioneer Inn, Hula Grill, Joey’s Kitchen, Roy’s Kaanapali, Japengo, Captain Jack’s, and the Maui Sugar Shop Bakery.
The evening’s open seating plan allows attendees to make new acquaintances in a relaxed setting. Reserved tables for ten are available, too. Live music by Indio and Avi complement the ambiance of the evening. A highlight for many is the martini “luge” by Darren Ho!
The delicious dinner is capped off with a live auction, generating funds for the school and providing entertainment from friendly competition and clever banter among bidders.
Many local businesses have extended aloha to Sacred Hearts School, including event sponsors Kaanapali Collision, The Fish Market, GM’s Painting & Restoration, Hawaiian Style Event Rentals, Jucker Hawaii, KCK Entertainment, Maui Technology Consultants, Prison Street Design, and Williams & Associates.
As Sacred Hearts School and Maria Lanakila Catholic Church are historic and integral parts of the West Maui community, we invite all to share and edify their aloha spirit in support of a wonderful cause.
In addition to providing support for Sacred Hearts’ quality education, a portion of the funds raised through the auctions is directed to the current sixth and seventh grade students. The students are actively raising money for the biennial East Coast Learning Journey slated for fall 2018.
Please join us on Nov. 18, 2017, for an evening truly filled with aloha. Tickets for open seating are $75 and include dinner, drinks and the live and silent auctions. A reserved sponsorship table for ten is also available for $1,000. To purchase tickets, visit the Sacred Hearts School office (the school is located behind Maria Lanakila Church) or call 661-4720. You may also purchase online by visiting shsmaui.org (go to the Giving page and scroll to An Evening of Aloha).
Hope to see you there!
