Author Norm Bezane releases digital book
WEST MAUI – “Voices of Aloha on Magical Maui” by former columnist Norm Bezane has become one of the only Lahaina- and Maui-based books to go digital.
The book features 60 of the best stories from his “Voices of Maui-Beyond the Beach” column written over ten years for Lahaina News.
“This digital version of the fourth book in a series meets the original objective of the column: to preserve meaningful stories of contemporary people who have shaped modern Maui,” Bezane said.
The digital book captures the essence of those who live on Maui and provides inside stories of leading musicians, a lei lady, the birdman who photographs visitors with parrots, hula dancers and their mystique, modern day whalers, colorful characters and little-known details of the lives of the monarchs.
The views of Hawaiians on what has happened to them over the last century are also included.
Making the book available on Amazon.com recognizes the increasing number of readers who read e-books.
The book is priced at $3.99 as an e-book on Amazon and also as a paperback on Amazon and at the Maui Friends of the Library bookstore on the third floor of The Wharf Cinema Center across from the Banyan Tree.
