LAHAINA – The Wishing Well for Maui Students, a nonprofit started ten years ago to help Maui County public school teachers and students with much-needed teaching aides and school supplies, extends a heartfelt and huge mahalo to the Lahaina Yacht Club Foundation for its recent donation of $2,000.

The generous donation has been directed to benefit the West Maui public schools.

Jill Kaiser, school coordinator for Lahaina Intermediate School and Princess Nahi’ena’ena Elementary School, made the request for assistance in purchasing needed supplies for West Maui teachers and students unable to do so on their own.

The Wishing Well and the Lahaina Yacht Club Foundation share the belief that having well-prepared students benefits us all in the community.

Although Lahaina Yacht Club is a members-only club, the foundation benefits everyone in the Maui community.

The foundation’s mission is “to foster, promote and educate the public in the art and skills of boating with an emphasis on supporting youth engaged in competitive endeavors.” The group offers a Junior Sailing Program and ocean education programs.

To make a donation to the Wishing Well through PayPal, go to ILoveMauiSchools.com. School supplies can always be dropped off at the Realtors Association of Maui at 441 Ala Makani Place in Kahului.
