Application period open for Monsanto Fund’s 2017 FIRST Robotics Grant program
KUNIA, HAWAII – The Monsanto Fund announced that applications for its 2017 FIRST Robotics Grant program in Hawaii are now available. Monsanto Fund’s FIRST Robotics is a nationwide grant program designed to inspire and nurture students’ interest in science, technology, engineering and math in communities where Monsanto employees live and work.
Established in 2015, the grant program has awarded more than $65,000 over two years to eligible teams in Hawaii, benefitting students in elementary through high school grade levels.
The grant is available to both first-year and veteran teams competing in FIRST Robotics Competitions (FRC), FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) tournaments, FIRST Lego League (FLL) and JR. FIRST Lego League (FLL Jr.) team challenges for kindergarten through 12th grade students.
The deadline for applications is Sept. 15, 2017, by 6:59 p.m. (HST). Teams must be located within 30 miles of a Monsanto site to be eligible for the grant program. Teams that demonstrate diversity will receive higher priority.
