David Westerfield wins 29th annual Lahaina Poster Contest

David Westerfield’s “Lahaina Morning” won the 29th annual Lahaina Poster Contest sponsored by LahainaTown Action Committee and Lahaina Arts Society.
LAHAINA – David Westerfield won the 29th annual Lahaina Poster Contest for his painting called “Lahaina Morning.”
Winners in the contest sponsored by LahainaTown Action Committee and Lahaina Arts Society were announced at the artists’ reception on Aug. 11.
The poster contest offers a grand prize of $3,000, and the winning art will become the limited edition official Lahaina Poster for 2018.
Lahaina Arts Society awarded $500 to Pamela Neswald for her painting, “Welcome to Lahaina.”
Sponsored by Cool Cat Cafe, the Most Promising Artist Award went to Ali Isabelle for “Front Street Waterview.”
The Honorable Mention Award sponsored by the McKelvey Family went to Ian Tremewen for “Long race off Lahaina,” and the People’s Choice Award sponsored by Pioneer Inn went to Diane Snoey Appler for “Lahaina Paradise.”
All of the entries are on sale in the Old Jail Gallery in the Old Lahaina Courthouse in Banyan Tree Park. The show will end on Sept. 4.
The 2018 official Lahaina Poster is limited to 1,000 prints and will be available starting Dec. 2, 2017. These posters are a popular item for art enthusiasts on Maui and around the world.
