Dates set for LHS students to pay fees, pick up schedules
LAHAINA – Lahainaluna High School has scheduled dates for incoming students to pay school fees and Student Government/ class dues, take photos for school IDs and pick up class schedules in Hale Pa’ina (cafeteria).
The schedule is: FRESHMEN, Class of 2021, Wednesday, July 26, 9 to 11 a.m.; SOPHOMORES, Class of 2020, July 26, 1 to 3 p.m.; JUNIORS, Class of 2019, Thursday, July 27, 9 to 11 a.m.; SENIORS, Class of 2018, July 27, 1 to 3 p.m.
School photo IDs are taken in the summer; please dress appropriately (no hats, sunglasses or strapless tops; tank tops are not recommended). Watch summer tan lines.
Boarders pay fees via mail; check the summer mailing for additional information.
Mandatory dues for the Classes of 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 are $25: $10 for class dues, $10 for Student Government dues (includes photo ID and handbook/planner), and $5 for postage for quarterly mailings. The Senior Class of 2018 also pays a $5 graduation fee.
Optional fees for all grades include $25 for a Maui Interscholastic League Athletic Pass (required of all athletes and boarders), which includes admission to LHS sporting events, and $50 for a Ka Lama 2018 Yearbook.
Payments must be made in cash – no personal checks accepted! Bank/cashier checks or money orders for the exact amount are acceptable.
Seniors, be sure you have an appointment scheduled with Nagamine Photo for your senior yearbook portrait. Call 244-3636 ASAP! All photos must be done before Aug. 1.
Other important dates include:
Aug. 1: Teachers report for their first day;
Aug. 7-8: Freshman orientation from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Hale Pa’ina;
Aug. 8: New transfer orientation from 10 a.m. to noon in Hale Pa’ina;?
Aug. 9: First full day of classes for all grades (report by 7:45 a.m.);?
Aug. 16: Opening Year Assembly;
Aug. 18: Statehood Day (no school);
Aug. 21: Club Fair;
Sept. 6-8: Yearbook photo days – details on personal photo orders and dates will be distributed when school starts;
Sept. 14: Open House.
