Art auction to benefit two Maui non-profits
LAHAINA – On Friday, June 23, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Village Galleries at 120 Dickenson St. in Lahaina will host a benefit silent auction of 47 paintings from the Sue Cooley Collection.
Proceeds will benefit the Lahainaluna High School Foundation – the organization that worked with Cooley on the LHS stadium project – and Hale Makua Health Services.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase works by your favorite artists along with supporting two of Maui’s most respected and important non-profits,” noted Anne KenKnight of Village Galleries.
“In addition to her generous support and commitment in our community, Sue Cooley had an eye for selecting outstanding artworks and a generous heart for encouraging artists on their creative journey. Five of our artists will be present at the auction – George Allan, Carleton, Michael Clements, Joseph Fletcher and Macario Pascual – to honor Sue and answer any questions you may have about their work.”
The entire collection of 47 paintings can be viewed online at www.villagegalleriesmaui.com/VillageGalleriesMaui/CooleyAuction.html.
Works that are not sold on Friday night will also be available on Saturday and Sunday, June 24-25, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, call 661-4402.
The Lahainaluna High School Foundation provides funds to help Lahaina youth reach their educational goals, while Hale Makua Health Services reaches out to support Maui residents needing assistance with health care.
