Lahainaluna High School Foundation awards $184,625 in scholarships

LAHAINA – The Lahainaluna High School Foundation awarded a record number of administered scholarships at this year’s Lahainaluna High School Senior Scholarship & Awards Program on May 10.

The foundation awarded 63 scholarships, representing 45 donors, for a total of $184,625 to graduating seniors and Lahainaluna staff members.

The foundation welcomed six new scholarships this year; the AAAAA Rent-A-Space and Kiiko & Juan Cabanilla Sr. Memorial scholarships were awarded to Brandon Flores; the Bonnie Ann Fijal Memorial went to Kamauliola Medeiros; George & Shirley Ito scholarship was awarded to Jarod Gaastra; James N. Martin Memorial went to Josiah Sombelon-McEwen; and the Shelton ‘Ohana renewable scholarship went to Shania Abut.
