LahainaTown Action Committee to hold fifth annual Golf Classic
LAHAINA – LahainaTown Action Committee invites golfers to its fifth annual Golf Classic on Saturday, May 6, at the Royal Kaanapali Golf Course. A portion of the tournament proceeds benefit Lahaina Junior Golf.
The festivities will kick off at 8 a.m. with a four-golfer scramble-shotgun start. Registration starts at 7 a.m. with a fee of $150. The entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart and awards luncheon.
The luncheon will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Roy’s, featuring an awards ceremony and live auction. The spectacular perpetual trophy for the contest was carved by talented woodworking artist Paul Kasprzycki. There will be prizes for each team, along with prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin (for both male and female). Also, on the course, there will be split the pot and Beat the Pro.
Sne Patel, president of LahainaTown Action Committee, said, “This is a unique golf classic with many merchants contributing to the fun. Ono grinds and refreshments on selected holes, provided by Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Cool Cat Caf, Beach Bums Napili and Johnson Brothers, so bring your appetite and golf skills.”
A hole-in-one will receive a brand new car sponsored by Jim Falk’s Valley Isle Motors. The public is invited to come join in the fun. To register and pay online, visit twww.visitlahaina.com or call 667-9175.
