New Kaanapali resort to open two-and-a-half months ahead of schedule
KAANAPALI – The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas in North Kaanapali Beach announced that it will open on April 15, 2017.
Having received the necessary permits for the first two buildings late last year, the 16-acre oceanfront property will open two-and-a-half months ahead of schedule.
“With the symbolism of the hina’i (fish basket) at its center, The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas honors the history of the land and the gathering of stories – stories of our island home and stories of our guests,” said Angela Nolan, Hawaii area managing director, Vistana Signature Experiences.
“We are excited to open our doors in April, providing guests the opportunity to create their own special vacation memories at this beautiful resort.”
The resort, whose name “nanea” means relaxation in Hawaiian, is currently confirming reservations for May 1, 2017.
Comprised of one-, two- and three-bedroom villas, The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas is designed to be a relaxing haven featuring culturally inspired programs and distinctive Hawaiian experiences.
Under the guidance of the resort’s director of culture, Makalapua Kanuha, Hawaiian culture has been woven into design elements throughout the property.
The resort’s Pu’uhonua o Nanea Cultural Center will feature innovative and educational cultural offerings honoring local history, language, art, crafts, music and dance.
Amenities at The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas will include an expansive lagoon-style swimming pool, children’s beach pool and play area, oceanfront cabanas, a WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio, full-service Mauka Makai Restaurant, and Inu (Drink) Pool Bar.
With an emphasis on farm-to-table cuisine, Mauka Makai will utilize indigenous plants and vegetables grown onsite and from local farms to complement popular local dishes.
Guests will also enjoy access to resort amenities at The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas located next door, including Spa Helani, a Heavenly Spa by Westin.
